Lake Tahoe is cold water diving. It can be completed in the same wetsuit as one would dive in Monterey. Drysuits are also popular.  Surface temps can be up to 75° in the summer, but don't let that fool you. Lake Tahoe has incredible thermoclines. At depth the water will be easily as cold as Monterey, or colder.

Divers must arrive no later than Friday afternoon for Saturday diving in order to acclimate to altitude. Since there is no way out of Lake Tahoe without crossing a pass, divers must wait a minimum of 6 hours after diving and my symptom free before leaving the Tahoe basin. Staying overnight after diving is recommended.

State Park vehicle fee is extra and parking at the site is not guaranteed. You may need to park in the overflow lot. We will be in the Lower Pines section, sites 31 and 32. Max RV length 20', max trailer 15'. If you are not camping, be sure to enter the park early as day use fills up very quickly on the weekends.

A PADI Advanced Open Water Course will be conducted concurrently but over Friday and Sunday as well. If you would like to add this course for $75, contact the shop.

Fun dives with staff and other divers will be encouraged Thursday through Sunday.

Important: If you are not staying in the park, be aware that day use fills up very early. It is advisable you arrive by 8am if you want to guarantee entry to day use.
